Oh, what? This old thing?
It's not! It's my new book! Also an essay, a questionnaire, and a hands-talking video clip.
You guys. Somehow I forgot to send a post on my pub day last Tuesday? But I meant to! To say that Wreck is out in the world, and I hope you buy it/request it from the library/read it/review it online! All of those things! Like, today! Would you please? Because then maybe my parents won’t be like, “The New York Times isn’t even reviewing it? That’s a shame.” (Too late, tbh. They already said it. But still!)
Here’s a weirdly blurry screenshot, showing you that gorgeous little circle (they call it a “burst” in the biz, or so I learned 3 weeks ago), indicating that this book is the Good Morning America Book Club pick for November.
CAN YOU BELIEVE I KEPT THAT SECRET FROM YOU SINCE THE SUMMER? I cannot. I felt like I was starring in episode of Caillou called, like, The Big Secret. Here is your girl on GMA. I have so much to share about the experience, including how nice everyone was, how unbelievably supportive my HarperCollins team is, the deflowering of my real eyelashes, and the fact that if you ask anyone there at the studio about the person they were most excited to make up/style/escort/drive, the answer is always always always Beyoncé. (Yes, okay, that’s a thrifted dress, but from the Royal Hospice Charity Shop in London, so… fancy?)
Meanwhile, you can read my Oldster Q and A or my new essay over on Cup of Jo. Also, I got to talk to the absolutely vibrantly alive Kate Bowler, which was such a total dream come true.
I’ve done a bunch of thrilling launch events, seen a ton of friends and family, met a zillion amazing readers, and am writing you from my hotel room in Toronto where I just ate a butter tart (picture pecan pie, but with raisins instead of nuts and enough sugar to make your jaw ache) and am leaving imminently for the rest of the tour. Come see me?
More soon, about regular stuff. Vote tomorrow! Get your hands on Kate Baer’s gorgeous new book, which comes out tomorrow! I love you.
xoxo

The book is of course fabulous but let's talk about the substantive matter, which is that your book tour style SLAPS. Such a treat to catch you live on home turf and it made watching the GMA clip all the sweeter to have all that eyelash BTS. ALL CAPS HOORAY FOR YOU, in all the ways.
What fantastic news, congratulations x
