These desserts look so good. Also the carve swimsuit bikini tops are the only ones that work well for me - since I nursed my kids for so long and what's left all these years later are two tube socks with mandarin oranges in the bottom. But you can't tell in the carve swim top- it just sucks everything in and it's comfy too. Not sure how they do it with no underwire but 5 stars from me for the carve bikini.
oh I LOVE seeing the graduation dinner menu! My college girlfriends and I STILL talk about our grad dinner- it was the perfect exclamation mark on that beautiful time. I'm adding the pots de creme to my summer list. and the swimsuit is HOT! It just is, we can say it.
Congratulations to Birdy, and to you! How does it feel to have launched both of your babies into the world? And what kind of system is this where the BEST case scenario is that you spend years and years protecting and feeding and sheltering and advising your children, only to have them grow up and leave you? Like, them leaving you is the whole goal. Who the hell came up with THAT?
My younger child graduated from Ithaca last month (you and I were pregnant "together" with our second babies during your very earliest Baby Center days), and I have such mixed feelings. Obviously, I'm super proud, but also? I feel like I've been retired. My work here is done-- I've sent two lovely adults out into the world. And now I don't know what my job is. (I don't have a "real job" due to chronic health issues.) It's a very strange feeling.
I have preordered your new book, by the way. And I again, respectfully, DEMAND that you write a cookbook soon. Preferably one that includes all your lovely commentary from the original Disney cooking blog. I have most of the recipes, but I miss the stories.
So yeah, you are hereby ordered to write me a cookbook. Because I have decided I have that authority.
We just entertained a family reunion of 20+ people for 6 straight meals. My key to success was not not worry about presentation. Looks like you nailed presentation also!
I can't believe you cooked for that many people, that is next level! I'll be ripping off both desserts for my next party, even if that party is only my family. :)
CONGRATS to the graduate and her family. xoxoxoxoxo
Awww—my daughter is a MHC grad, and she just sent a text to tell us to save the date of 5/16/26–for her William & Mary law school graduation! Unreal. It seems like a month ago that we drove 14 hours to MHC to drop her off—and I cried most of the way home. What a wonderful, magical school. Congratulations to Birdy—and you! Such a beautiful celebration you threw! (I hope you enjoyed a long nap the following day!)
Congrats to Birdy. Great accomplishment! It feels good to see our children succeed. I love the photo of the recipe for the pudding. Your annotations are so cute!
I think this rhubarby dessert will make me a convert. I know so many dedicated to that vegetable’s many applications but I’ve not jumped in.
Cute suit, too!! I remember your last recommendation and I bought it in red, though I too love a dark, flattering suit color. I guess now I can trust you to recommend bathing suits as skillfully as you recommend (and write!)books.
I am just so happy about Birdy's start to her next chapter. I know it's weird to say we watched her grow up because we didn't (and people still say that to me) -- but we watched YOU grow, and that's just as exciting. Can't wait to see what's next for both of you. Besides more best-sellers and more recipes. xo
Ahhh, thank you so much, dear Liz! Isn't this chapter just so. . . heart-filling, I guess. Stunning, but in a good way. I don't know. So many things I know you know. xo
My daughter was in classes with Birdy! Small world! Do you have sister who is a family practice doctor? I think our lives have crossed a few times. I also live locally and am approaching senior year this fall. Life is too fast.
As a Mount Holyoke grad (class of ‘13!) this made me so so so happy. Graduation week remains one of the best times of my life- so much fun and traditions and love with my mohos! Love that you did this amazing dinner party, Birdy is the luckiest. Congrats to Birdy! 🫶

Okay, that's good to know because I'm interested in a bikini! And I have the same tube-sock boobs!

Sob! And yes, I want to do a cookbook! Maybe?

I think you'd love both of these desserts, honestly! xo

Amazing! Congratulations, Julie.
That suit is cuuuuute! How is the boob support?
It's pretty good! Honestly, no suit is as good as my Yummie one piece, but they stopped making it, sob.
Loved seeing you in Portland! I've told everyone I know about Sandwich and how I want to be your best friend, Catherine!
Oh Cheryl, thank you so much! That event was magic for me.

Those Yummie suits are amazing. I don't understand why they stopped making them.
I heard the compote was awesome. 💚 from Shira's mom

Love the dinner menu & the suit! Will plug the sidestroke - it lives up to all the hype: https://www.summersalt.com/products/sidestroke-seaweed-seaglass-white-sand
I second that! I have it in the pink color way and get lots of compliments.
Oh! Okay! Don't know this!

Ha ha ha, I have a brother who is an epidemiologist? xoxo

Angela, it was incredible. I loved how totally celebratory it was! I love that school. xo
Cooking for that people is rewarding and HARD! It really is worth it, but still so hard. Kudos to you and congrats to Birdy!
