Thank you so much for these! Between this and previous years' recommendations, the teen's stocking is nearly done.
As for rhubarb soap etc.--I am also obsessed with that soap and all things rhubarb; I have a nice Jo Malone scent ("tangy rhubarb cologne") which comes close to the soap, but isn't quite it. My (doomed) one true love is Hermes eau de rhubarbe ecarlate: it smells like utter rhubarb perfection but fades in about 4 minutes.
I thought your sense of humor would jive with hers (not that I know either of you except via your writing)! It's one of the funniest newsletters, and if I knew how substack worked I would have shared it more elegantly than a link. To more wicked humor around menopause!
We were entering our puzzle era last Christmas, but the cats, the goddamn cats, they knock the pieces on the floor or they just take them somewhere... else. Maybe I should get one of those puzzle mats? 🤔
Since you love Blackwing pencils, as I do, you've got to check out St. Louis Art Supply. They have the coolest stuff--pens, pencils, watercolor supplies, paper, EVERYTHING. I don't work for them, but boy, oh, boy, do I love their store! They sell in a brick-and-mortar place and on line. Thank you for all the many many many suggestions. https://shop.stlartsupply.com
Thanks for the fresh ideas, I always struggle with stocking stuffers for my adult children. (I tried to stop doing stockings for them, but there was a revolt…I would advise others to think long and hard about setting an age limit to stockings early on. Use the savings for a trip to Europe!)
This year I stumbled on Field Note’s D&D notebooks. I am very excited to have found a non-gift-card gift for my favorite teenager!
Ty for this. I went to the last link on kids stuff: here. It mentioned a Chile tortilla bake recipe for Christmas Day and Rosemary Maple popcorn recipe. I couldn’t access either one. It took me to a Disney site-same one, for both. Bummer! I was hoping I was really onto something! Yum!
Love this-and the Samantha Irby shirt 🤣! Been trying to find new games for my first grader and was THRILLED to find your 2010 list here! The legume game looks perfect ❤️
oh Bohnanza? It's a wonderful game! We played it again last summer in a pub in London with my grown kids and nephews and it was even better than we all remembered.
Being the young age of 60, you had me at “vaginal estrogen cream” but what I got was so much more. I felt like I stepped into your personal life complete with pictures! Thank you so much. I bought a couple of books from your links and I plan on giving a couple of books away, etc.. sending cyber love. I found you thanks to substacks trending now list! It was serendipity!!

omg, jen, because of you I ordered myself a sample of that perfume! it hasn't arrived yet, but I'm excited.
Yay!
While you’re waiting for your vaginal estrogen, you could always fall back on Twinings Menopause “Cool Moments” tea. Add that to the gift list, folks 😂. https://open.substack.com/pub/lucysweet/p/not-such-a-cool-yule?r=3c75m&utm_medium=ios&utm_campaign=post
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Omg. That was so good.

Oh we have the same problem all the time. I don't have a solution, besides kissing them a lot on their bad foreheads.
I tried that but they still fuck up my puzzle...
Maybe give them more treats?
And NOW it's officially the holiday season!
I look forward to your list every year. Thank you!!!!
Thank you, dearest Oona!

It's weirdly challenging to find that sweet spot between, like, Elmo stickers and THC gummies.

Oh, Julie! Yes. They're all on my old blog: https://benandbirdy.blogspot.com/p/recipe-index.html But let me know if you can't find them there! xxoo
Ty so much! I’ll check 🙂

I am obsessed with connections and I haven't played codenames so thank you! Getting it for the family.
It's one of my very favorite games.
